Save-the-Earth Day Activities in Our Schools

These events will challenge our students to heighten their awareness about environmental issues and ways that they can make positive changes to help the environment.

       On January 22, 2010 the students in our schools wore

green to show their support for earth friendly activities. Below is a chart that

                            shows each schools’ participation.

Text Box: School #9E and School #5 both sent letters to their congressmen in efforts to make their voice heard on their opinions on what should be done to Save-the-Earth.
Text Box: Preschool children built a robot out of recycled objects.
Text Box: The Kindergartners in Mrs. Arnone’s class are saving 1,608 lbs. of CO2 each year by turning off lights when they leave a room.
Text Box: At Boardman Elementary, Susan Velella's first graders are lowering their carbon footprints by using reusable canteens and water bottles.  Their smiles show the pride they take in doing their part to improve our environment.
