By popular demand, we have added a small collection of literature in graphic format, often referred to as graphic novels.  Titles that fall into this category can be either fiction or non-fiction.  What brings them together into one category is their method of conveying the story through an emphasis on pictures.

If you search through the webOPAC, titles with a GC location code are part of this collection.  Many titles are original works while others are adapted versions of classic titles.

“A type of graphic novel that has become very popular with young adults is manga, Japanese comics that have been translated into English. They are often serialized magazine stories that have been collected into book form. Some of the English translations appear in the original right-to-left Japanese format.”  (http://www.duluth.lib.mn.us/youthservices/GraphicNovelsParents.html; February 15, 2011)
